Pat and Andy would like to welcome you to The Barn. Here you can be assured of peace, quietness and good old fashioned hospitality. All you will hear are the sounds of the country, our doves cooing and of the cows who provide your morning milk, making their way up and down the lane morning and evening. Even Lorenzo, the cockerel, does not crow too early so as not to disturb your lie in.
The Barn is an ideal base for walkers who wish to explore the beauty of Dartmoor as we have direct access on to the moor. Or for tourists in cars wanting to visit the surrounding countryside or the many towns, villages, cities and coastal area, within a 30 mile radius. In the hall you will find a small library and a selection of leaflets to help you plan your day. To say nothing of Andy`s wealth of local knowledge.... Truth and myth ! We provide safe off road parking overnight storage for bicycles. For walkers we can offer packed lunches and a baggage carry on service to your next destination. This can be particularly helpful for those walking The Two Moors Way.
You may also find us a convenient stop on your way to an early ferry to France or Spain at the Ferry Port of Plymouth.. Or even on your return as a welcome rest before your onward journey north.
A little further afield but well worth a full day out there is:
Land`s End via Tintagel, the legendary castle of King Arthur.
The Eden Project at St Austell
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
Bodmin Moor and visit to Daphne Du Maurier`s Jamaica Inn
